KPI Construction Services has officially been certified carbon neutral by Climate Active Australia, becoming one of the first traffic management providers in the country to achieve this status.
This achievement shows KPI’s strong commitment to sustainability. The company is not just ticking boxes—it is taking real, measurable steps to reduce its environmental impact and help deliver cleaner, safer infrastructure projects.
To reach carbon neutrality, KPI Construction Services has introduced:
“Sustainability is not just a goal—it’s part of how we work every day,” said Kevin Ramsay, Founding Director of KPI Construction Services. “While heavy vehicle technology is still catching up, we’ve already made big changes to cut emissions and offset our footprint. We are actively looking at alternative fuels and new technology to help build safer, greener roads.”
Kevin added:
“Becoming carbon neutral isn’t just a title. It proves that real change is possible in traffic management. We’ve invested in clean technology, sustainable fuel options, and smarter fleet operations because the industry should lead, not follow. This is only the start of our journey to zero-emission traffic management.”
KPI’s Environmental Roadmap focuses on:
This proactive approach makes KPI Construction Services a trusted partner for delivering infrastructure projects that are safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible.
KPI Construction Services is a national leader in traffic management, road safety, and labour hire, serving major government and private infrastructure projects across Australia. Certified carbon neutral by Climate Active, KPI is committed to innovation, sustainability, and safety leadership, pushing the industry toward a zero-emission future in traffic management.

KPI GROUP CARBON NEUTRAL
KPI Construction Services is strengthening its fleet with the addition of Blade Truck-Mounted Attenuators (TMAs). This upgrade clearly demonstrates our ongoing commitment to protecting roadside workers and motorists while delivering safer traffic management solutions across Australia.
From the beginning, Kevin Ramsay has led KPI with a strong focus on safety and innovation. As a result, the company has consistently adopted advanced technologies that go beyond compliance standards. In addition, his leadership has set new benchmarks for road safety across the industry.
The Blade TMA provides several advantages over traditional attenuators. Firstly, it is crash-tested to MASH TL‑3, certified at 100 km/h under Australian Standard AS/NZS 3845.2:2017.
Secondly, its patented 12-blade energy absorption system delivers controlled dissipation of crash energy, significantly reducing impact forces.
Furthermore, the full-width impact capture design removes dangerous “coffin corners,” offering complete rear vehicle shielding.
Finally, advanced G-Force reduction technology minimizes crash forces, protecting both workers and motorists. The vertical stow design also enables rapid deployment while preserving vehicle tray space.
By adding Blade TMAs, KPI can safely manage high-speed projects and large-scale infrastructure works more effectively. Consequently, this investment strengthens our ability to deliver safer road environments. Ultimately, it reinforces our mission to engineer tomorrow’s roads—safe, fast, and carbon-neutral, ensuring every worker returns home safely.

KPI exceeding national safety standards
]]>This milestone reflects the vision of our Founding Director, Kevin Ramsay, whose leadership and forward-thinking approach have driven KPI’s legacy of innovation and safety-first practices in the traffic management sector.
With our newest ACT joining the fleet, KPI continues to:
From introducing Australia’s first commercially available ACT to expanding our automated fleet, KPI remains dedicated to ensuring every worker goes home safely.

KPI CONSTRUCTION SERVICES AUTOMATED CONE TRUCK
As part of our ongoing commitment to innovation and road safety, KPI Group has recently introduced 11 new Blade MASH-rated Truck Mounted Attenuators (TMAs), supplied by Innov8 Equipment. This strategic enhancement to our growing fleet ensures that our teams and the traveling public remain protected on high-speed roads and construction sites across Australia.
The decision to incorporate Blade TMAs into our operations was driven by a combination of safety, efficiency, and innovation. With traffic management and worker safety at the forefront of our priorities, the Blade TMA stood out as the ideal choice for our growing fleet. Here’s why:
The Blade TMA is designed with an innovative energy-absorbing steel blade system, which effectively dissipates the kinetic energy from vehicle collisions. This ensures controlled deceleration and minimizes risks to both road users and our workforce.
Unlike traditional TMAs, the Blade TMA is lighter and more compact, allowing for improved fuel efficiency, vehicle maneuverability, and reduced wear on fleet vehicles. Its shorter stowed length also makes it ideal for urban environments and work zones with limited space.
Meeting the rigorous MASH (Manual for Assessing Safety Hardware) Test Level 3 standards, the Blade TMA has been crash-tested to withstand high-speed impacts. Its performance aligns with KPI’s commitment to exceeding industry safety requirements and ensuring compliance with Australian road safety regulations.
The Blade TMA’s simple deployment and retraction system makes it easy for operators to manage, reducing setup time and increasing efficiency on job sites. This allows our teams to deploy and reposition safely and quickly, minimizing disruptions to traffic flow.
The Blade TMA comes with Rear Under Ride Protection as standard to the rear of the trailer. When vehicles crash into the Blade TMA, they avoid underrunning the TMA at the rear side because of this safety feature, which reduces the chances of fatalities and severe injuries.
The Blade TMA was also designed to safely protect and redirect the impacting vehicle away from the “coffin corner”. A phrase in the traffic management industry, the “coffin corner” describes a scenario where a driver hits the corner of a truck-mounted attenuator, often leading to significant injury or death. The Blade TMA’s impact plate width is the same width as the truck tray, significantly wider than most products on the market today. This means the TMA can safely capture the entire vehicle and disperse the energy from the crash, protecting the vulnerable road user.
With the introduction of 11 Blade TMAs, KPI continues to lead the way in road safety innovation. We recognize that safety technology is constantly evolving, and our commitment to MASH-certified impact attenuators is part of our broader mission to enhance work zone safety, operational efficiency, and sustainability in traffic management.
As always, when KPI introduces new safety technologies, we are not satisfied with the out-of-the-box concept, even though we must admit the Blades were already pretty special. We have worked with our partners to enhance the Blade with cyclist and motorbike under-guard protection, further ensuring safety for vulnerable road users.
Wayne Wright, General Manager at KPI Group, highlighted the significance of this enhancement:
“The introduction of the Blade TMA to our fleet reflects KPI’s ongoing commitment to safety and innovation. As we continue to expand, our priority remains ensuring our workers and the public are protected by the best technology available.”
As KPI continues to expand across major infrastructure and road projects in Australia, having the right work zone safety solutions is critical. The Blade MASH-rated TMAs align with our goal of providing best-in-class traffic protection devices while maintaining our commitment to sustainability and safety leadership in the industry.
